Install in about two minutes
Three short steps — you only do this once.
Step 1Add it to Chrome
Open the RoleRamp listing on the Chrome Web Store and click Add to Chrome, then confirm with Add extension. Works in Chrome, Edge, Brave and other Chromium browsers.
Step 2Pin it to your toolbar
Click the puzzle-piece icon at the top-right of your browser, find RoleRamp, and click the pin so it is always one click away.
Step 3Sign in to RoleRamp
The extension uses your existing RoleRamp session — no extra password. If you are signed out, the popup links you straight to sign-in.
It can read and change data on roleramp.com. Reads a page only when you click Save.
Prefer to install manually? (developer / unpacked build)
If you have the extension as a ZIP (e.g. a pre-release build) instead of using the Web Store:
- Unzip it to a folder you'll keep — Windows: right-click → Extract All…; Mac: double-click the ZIP. Don't delete the folder afterwards; the browser loads the extension from there.
- Open
chrome://extensionsin the address bar and press Enter. - Turn on Developer mode (top-right toggle).
- Click Load unpacked (top-left) and select the unzipped folder — the one containing
manifest.json. - Pin it to your toolbar (puzzle-piece icon → pin), then sign in to RoleRamp and save your first job.
How the match score works
The moment you save a job, RoleRamp scores it 0–100 against your Base CV and shows a coloured gauge with up to three insights — so you can spot your strongest opportunities at a glance.
A strong fit — prioritise this one and tailor it now.
A solid fit — worth tailoring to close the gaps.
Needs work — the score climbs as your CV covers more of the role.
Reading the insights
Each save comes with up to three quick insights. The icon carries the meaning, so it's clear even without colour:
- Positive — your CV clearly covers this (e.g. “Strong React & TypeScript match”).
- Neutral — worth a mention if you have it (e.g. “Mention GraphQL if you have it”).
- Gap — something the role wants that your CV doesn't show yet.
Unlock your score
No score yet? You'll see this prompt instead — build your Base CV in RoleRamp and every save gets scored from then on.
An estimate, not a promise
The score is RoleRamp's estimate of how well your CV fits the role — a guide to help you prioritise. It isn't a guarantee of interviews or hiring outcomes, and it never invents experience you don't have.
What happens after you save
Save jobs as you browse
On any posting, click the RoleRamp icon and hit Save. We read the page and structure it with AI.
Get a Role Match Score
Every save is scored against your Base CV the moment you save it — with up to three AI insights.
Tailor in one click
Open the saved job in RoleRamp, review, and start a tailored CV and cover letter for that role.
Track every application
Keep saved and applied roles in one place, and never lose track of a great opportunity again.
Private by design
- No new password. The extension uses your existing signed-in RoleRamp session — nothing extra to store, and signing out instantly revokes its access.
- Only when you click Save. It reads a page only when you press Save — it doesn't run in the background or track your browsing.
- You stay in control. Saved jobs live in your account and you can remove them at any time.
Questions & troubleshooting
Is the extension free?
Yes — it's free on the Chrome Web Store. You only need a RoleRamp account to save jobs into and to unlock your Role Match Score.
Which job sites does it work on?
Any page — LinkedIn, Seek, Indeed, and company career pages. It reads the visible job text (and structured JobPosting data where present) and uses AI to extract the details, so it is not limited to a fixed list of sites.
The RoleRamp icon didn't appear after installing — what now?
It is installed but not pinned. Click the puzzle-piece icon at the top-right of your browser, find RoleRamp in the list, and click the pin icon next to it. The icon then stays in your toolbar.
Do I have to be signed in?
Yes. The extension forwards your existing signed-in RoleRamp session, so if you are signed out the popup shows a "Sign in to RoleRamp" prompt. There is no separate extension password to manage.
Does it track my browsing?
No. It only reads a page when you click Save — it uses an on-click read, not an always-on background script, so it cannot watch the rest of your browsing.
What is the Role Match Score?
It's RoleRamp's 0–100 estimate of how well your Base CV fits a role, shown as a coloured gauge (Great / Good / Needs improvement) with up to three insights. It's a guide to prioritise your applications, not a guarantee of hiring outcomes.
