RoleRamp connects to ChatGPT and other AI assistants (Claude and other MCP clients) through the same production server, using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). This page is written for ChatGPT, but everything on it applies the same way whichever AI assistant you connect.
Once you connect your RoleRamp account, ChatGPT can read and update your own private RoleRamp workspace on your explicit request, the same data you would see if you signed in to RoleRamp yourself. In plain language, it can work with:
Preparing a tailored CV or cover letter draft, opening a saved job as an application, and importing an uploaded CV file use the same prepaid RoleRamp credits as the website (Role Pack credits and CV-upload allowances). The plugin can only spend credits you already have. It cannot buy, add, or top up credits, and it will tell ChatGPT if you are out of credits rather than charging you anything.
The plugin sends ChatGPT only the data needed to answer the specific request you made, not your full RoleRamp account in one dump. For example, asking to compare a saved job with your profile returns that job and the relevant profile fields, not your entire CV, referee list, or recruiter contacts. Full names, addresses, phone numbers, referee contact details, and dates of birth are left out of responses unless the request specifically needs them and you have permitted it. RoleRamp does not receive or process your ChatGPT conversation history; it only sees the specific inputs a tool call sends it.
Do not submit the following through this integration:
Do not submit passwords, API keys, authentication codes, payment-card details, government identifiers, or protected health information through this integration.
Most of what the plugin does is read-only: listing saved jobs, applications, CV content, referees, or recruiters, or checking your credit balance. Some actions create or update records in your account, for example saving a job, creating a private application-tracking record, editing your CV, or generating a tailored CV or cover letter draft. A smaller set of actions are destructive: deleting a saved job, an application, a CV version, a referee, a recruiter contact, or a note. Destructive actions only ever apply to records you own and only happen when you ask for them.
None of these actions submit anything outside your RoleRamp account. Creating an application record in RoleRamp is a private tracking entry, not a submission to an employer, and generated CV or cover letter content is always a draft for you to review before you use it anywhere.
RoleRamp's MCP server is hosted at api.roleramp.com/mcp.
When you connect RoleRamp inside ChatGPT, you are sent to a consent screen hosted by RoleRamp
using the OAuth standard. You sign in with your existing RoleRamp account (or create one), review
the specific access RoleRamp is requesting, and approve it. RoleRamp never sees or stores your
ChatGPT credentials, and ChatGPT never sees your RoleRamp password.
You can disconnect the integration from either side:
Disconnecting does not delete your RoleRamp account, your saved jobs, applications, CV, or any other data. Your account stays exactly as it was; ChatGPT simply loses access to it until you reconnect.
Disconnecting the integration revokes the connection's access tokens; it does not delete any RoleRamp data, because everything the plugin works with belongs to your RoleRamp account, not to the plugin. Anything ChatGPT created or changed through the connection, for example an application-tracking record, a CV draft, or a note, is an ordinary record in your RoleRamp account that you can view, edit, or delete on the RoleRamp website exactly like anything else you created yourself.
To delete your entire RoleRamp account and all associated data, sign in to RoleRamp and use the delete-account option in Settings. See our Support page for details.
The OAuth connection between ChatGPT and RoleRamp uses short-lived, revocable access tokens scoped only to your RoleRamp content; it cannot be used to sign in anywhere else. See the Privacy Policy for the full list of data categories, purposes, and retention periods, including the section on ChatGPT and AI assistant integrations.
